The Pan-African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) initiative was launched in all the eight countries between 6 May and 20 June. The purpose of the launch event was to bring together various stakeholders, such as government officials and representatives from the artists’ union and civil society, in order to gain support for the project’s implementation through our partners and to define the project’s vision as an important platform for free thinkers on the continent. PANAF wishes to thank the Swedish embassies in Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Zambia, as well as the Alliance Française in Kenya, for their support in making the launch a reality.
