PANAF chapters in the eight countries held a validation meeting in January 2023 to analyse the research, which was completed in November 2022 and looked at the State of Artistic Freedom as well as workable recommendations that could help artists defend their rights to free expression and guide government and other stakeholders in better promoting and protecting them. Artists, civil society members, and policymakers were among those who attended the meeting. The meeting’s comments and feedback were incorporated in the final report.
